Move by wind or do not move at all.

The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit. John 3: 8

Jesus tells Nicodemus that unless one is born again from the spirit, one can not see the Kingdom of God. What is born out of the spirit is like the wind; we have no idea of its origin, yet we know it is real, and if we allow it to guide us, we have no certainty of where we will end up.

Being moved by uncertainty is not a comfortable place to be, but recognizing that the Holy Spirit of God is a better leader than our own emotions is not an uncertain or confusing direction. It is indeed the best direction you and I can desire. It is a blueprint for seeking the Kingdom of God, one we can not follow step by step, but we can be led day by day.

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6.33

We are called to keep our eyes on Jesus and seek his Kingdom; he will take care of our needs. We are also called to seek his righteousness, and doing so requires a tremendous amount of boldness. His righteousness is not something to be paraded on the streets as a virtue anymore; it is counter-cultural to the most progressive agendas that position man-made justice above all else.

If we seek this kind of righteousness and justice, we are to be directed by the spirit and led in a way that we trust the leadership of the one we have decided to follow.

As parent you need to trust that he will guide you to instruct your kids and that they are his before yours. As a husband, you need to trust his leadership, remembering the example that he on the cross set for us as a husband, giving his life for us; we are called to do the same for our wives. As citizens of this world, we are to share the good news and stand for what is right in His eyes, not in the eyes of man-made culture.

And more importantly, above all, if we believe that he is leading us, even when we are not sure where that leadership will position us tomorrow, we need to trust him that following him unto the unknown is the greatest example we can give to our loves ones so they can also be inspired to follow Jesus in the same way. Either you are moved by the wind, or you are not moved by him at all.
