Love Triumphs in Every Trial

"Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." Romans 12:21

So easy to say,

so momentarily fulfilling.

Yet, in the long run,

it is far harder and more rewarding

to show consistent goodness against consistent evil,

consistent love against consistent hate.

That’s the gospel: a life of rebellion

met by eternal mercy and grace.

We did not deserve such goodness,

yet it is freely given to us.

When the world turns against you,

may we find strength in the One who loved us first,

so we can love them in the same way we have been loved.
