Late Night Snuggles
In my short experience as a dad, the baby snuggle season is very short. It lasts longer for Moms, but for me(The dad), it is over in the blink of an eye.
Spending time with our kids almost goes against our fathering nature; we get distracted by very real demands like providing financial and physical needs to our family. I said "almost", because inside of our soul, we also carve a void if we do not spend time with our child. This kind of void will never be able to be filled once they grow up.
Snuggle season is open! Come while they are still available!
In my short experience as a dad, the baby snuggle season is very short. It lasts longer for Moms, but for me(The dad), it is over in the blink of an eye. Thankfully, it seems like my toddler daughter is finding that she wants to hold me hostage in bed after bedtime stories!
The rule used to be one or two books max, and then I leave, rules like this are meant to be broken. I will read as many books as she wants and fall asleep at her side until Mama comes to rescue me. I am sure this season will also end shortly, and I intend to take the most advantage out of it.
It goes like this: We go upstairs, she runs away from me as I intend to give her and her little brother a bath, then she runs away, again, as I try to get her inside her PJs, and finally, when ready, we head over to baby brother's room to give our boy and mama a goodnight kiss.
I am looking forward to them growing up just "a little bit" so we can start camping season and explore the greatest outdoors while looking at the stars at night.
