Husbands, Forks, And Misplacing Things
I wish the problem would be that I lose the things I misplaced, but the real problem is that I make a disorganized mess by leaving things all over the place.
We have a silverware set of twelve forks. For some reason, right now, there are just six in the utensil drawer. I got the question during the morning, "My love, where are the missing forks?"
I misplace things very often, therefore when something goes missing in my house, my wife, almost by default, thinks I have misplaced them. Car keys, house keys, baby shoes, the diapers I just bought, my wallet, etc.
I wish the problem would be that I lose the things I misplaced, but the real problem is that I make a disorganized mess by leaving things all over the place. Some things that I have lost take me years to find, and sometimes when I do, they are no longer usable.
The next time you are thinking your life seems disorganized and you're not sure where to begin to put it together, you can start by looking where you have misplaced some basics in life. Things like money badly allocated in worthless subscriptions, relationships that you have left unattended, a dream under the couch that is just collecting dust, well-needed sleep buried by scrolling on Instagram, and the list goes on.
Start looking for misplaced things in your life that would make sense to get back before you do lose them. After all, there is only so much we can lose before we lose our minds trying to figure out where in the world I left it last time.
