Crafting Christmas: Unwrapping the Builder's Tale

Merry Christ's Mass to my fellow Craftsmen! The economic acrobatics and hyper-consumerism that often accompany Christmas have left me wondering if, as a society, we're a bit like apprentices with a shaky grasp on the master plan.

Merry Christ's Mass to my fellow Craftsmen!

As the holiday season unfurls its glittering tapestry, I find myself pondering the curious notion that Jesus might have been the original Tekton—a builder, a craftsman, or perhaps the ultimate DIY enthusiast.

In the midst of the stress-induced shopping sprees and the annual wrestling match with festive decorations, it strikes me that we might be missing the point. Could it be that Jesus, the ultimate artisan, is rolling his eyes at our tinsel-covered chaos from the heavenly workshop?

The economic acrobatics and hyper-consumerism that often accompany Christmas have left me wondering if, as a society, we're a bit like apprentices with a shaky grasp on the master plan. The irony that we might be celebrating Jesus's birthday on the wrong day, complete with misplaced candles and off-key carols, adds a layer of humor to the festive mix.

And let's not forget the slight oversight that Christ isn't always the star of the Christmas show. As I've navigated the Yuletide maze throughout my life, I've discovered that amidst the tinsel and mistletoe, the true meaning can sometimes get buried like lost tools in a cluttered workshop.

But fear not, for Christmas, with all its quirks, has found a way back into my life. It's my wife, the real MVP of holiday cheer, who manages to pull me out of the Grinchy shadows each year. The simplicity of the season as a day of remembrance, a "mass" where believers come together, resonates with the essence of a master craftsman gathering his apprentices to pass on the wisdom of the trade.

Sure, Christmas may have undergone its fair share of man-made manipulations and accrued traditions as baffling as assembling IKEA furniture without instructions. But beyond the holiday hullabaloo, we can still revel in the timeless message that, indeed, unto us a Child is born—a craftsman's masterpiece, a labor of divine love.

As we unwrap the layers of twinkling lights and glittering baubles, let's not forget the real reason we gather around the table. For unto us a Child is born, a Son is given, and the government—along with the workshop responsibilities—shall be upon his shoulder. His name? Wonderful Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace—a true Tekton, the ultimate builder crafting a legacy of eternal joy.

So, here's to a Christmas seasoned with laughter, crafted with love, and a reminder that, amidst the chaos, our ultimate Tekton is watching from the celestial workshop looking forward to join us at the table in one last "Mass." May your holidays be filled with joy, family, and the anticipation of a grand reunion where we'll feast with the Master Builder himself. Cheers to a Merry Christ's Mass, my fellow Craftsmen!
