About
elcome to The Shaggy Report, an independent publication by Javier Feliu, a dedicated space for the faith-driven family man, entrepreneur-minded individual, and woodworker or craftsman.
You need to craft your business, your family, and your parenting; in fact, you need to craft your life. Things do not just pop into existence; they require work. I spend part of my time meditating and writing about how I and others craft beauty in these important areas of life.
What's in it for you? I deliver reflections on entrepreneurship, woodworking, life, faith, and family, hoping they can help both you and me process life in a way that allows us to craft beauty from our most precious things. You can always unsubscribe; there will be no spam, and your free subscription motivates me even more to keep sharing my insights!
How often? I am not sure; life is dynamic and this is not a business. I plan to share one or two pieces per week most of the time.
If you subscribe today (It's free), you'll get full access to the website as well as email newsletters about my new content when it's available. Your subscription makes this site possible, and allows javierfeliu.com to continue to exist. Thank you!
Future Paid Content
I am working on two extra publications, one just about woodworking "Craftsman's Odyssey." A second one that I have not picked a name yet, focuses on entrepreneurship.
My work in progress, "Craftsman's Odyssey", will be a library for woodworkers and craftsmen. You are welcome to check it out, but until the end of April or May, I cannot promise that the content will be up yet!
About Javier
I am a family man, a girl dad, and a boy dad. I am happily married to my best friend and supporter. I am also an outdoor enthusiast, paddler, furniture maker, and business-minded person.
Nowadays, it seems that the family is no longer at the center of society as we know it, and this is a recipe for chaos. Not only that, but we also lack any semblance of a moral compass and objective truth. I believe that undertaking the task of identifying where we have gone astray and determining how to regain our footing it's worth the try.
“The line separating good and evil passes not through states, nor between classes, nor between political parties either -- but right through every human heart -- and through all human hearts. This line shifts. Inside us, it oscillates with the years. And even within hearts overwhelmed by evil, one small bridgehead of good is retained” ― Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago 1918–1956
Professional Life
I co-founded a couple of very small (emphasis on SMALL) businesses, and the last one was a custom fine furniture business, which I managed for about eight years before closing it, just to re-open it as a hobby side job.
Currently juggling the final stages of my MBA at Boston University, parenting, and working as a Strategy and Marketing Consultant, I thrive on strategic planning, embracing innovative digital solutions, and leveraging data-driven marketing to boost profitability and market expansion. It’s about making smart moves that lead to big wins.
